52 to 48 with love

After this election I think what everyone needs right now is a big hug. A great big unifying hug.

I think this is a pretty positive concept, a conciliatory gesture to the 48% of Americans who didn't vote for Barack Obama. Make your own photo asking for unity and submit it to 52 to 48 with love.

Ready -- Set -- BUMBO

As a new father I was really inspired by this series of videos done by a father and his child for YouTube. Sitting around all day with your kid as a stay-at-home Dad may not sound all that much fun, but with a video camera, a Bumbo brand child chair, and some stop action edits lfatboyl has whipped up trilogy of videos that are catching some serious buzz.

Here's part I, II & III followed by some hillarious behind-the-scenes outtakes.

Dilbert Kickin It Old School

Recently on the Dilbert Blog [1/29/08], Scott Adams mused about the seeming randomness of the lyrics of popular songs. He challenged his readers to submit random lyrics of their own that could be combined into a song.

Lots of people submitted their random lyrics, and German band RIVO DREI put the best ones together, added music, and created a surprisingly great little song. Then one of the readers took it an extra step and made a music video using nothing but images from the Internet. You might be surprised how well it came out:

This is also a good example of how most music company executives wouldn't know what a good song was if it came up and chomped them in the arse. ;)
